EXCITING NEWS FOR SUMMERSIDE

Ron Barrett, President of Summerside Regional Development Corporation expressed on behalf of the Board of Directors and management, excitement and appreciation for the commitment in Fridayís speech from the throne that the Department of Education will be moved to Summerside.

We applaud the vision promoted within the speech, that the Island should be viewed as a single community. This vision reflects the world we live and work in today. In this global market, location is increasingly less an issue. The ability to deliver product and services is much easier in todayís business world as a result of technology development, which supports the relocation of this department to Summerside.

This is a great day for Summerside and realizes a long sought after Provincial government presence within our city. We wish to thank Premier Ghiz and his government for the leadership they are showing by making this bold new approach in recognizing PEI as a single community. SRDC, as the regional development corporation, will work in any we can to help facilitate this very important development.
